If you do not have the motivation to workout and eat healthy on your own, do it for your kids.  Children watch everything their parents do and mimic those behaviors.  If they see you being inactive and eating poorly, they will do the same, which may lead to obesity or just a very unhealthy lifestyle. Sometimes you may not even have the time for a quick 30 minute workout.  With this free app, called “Johnson and Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout,” all you need is 7 minutes of free time to get a workout in, which is perfect for busy moms and dads.  You may think 7 minutes is not enough time.  But with this app, you can choose the intensity at which you workout and you can end up getting in a nice sweat and burning some calories in this short period of time. If you have extra time on some days, there are also longer workouts that last 21 minutes or more!  You can choose the workout you want to do yourself and how intense you want it to be.  Users have said it is like having a real personal trainer! If you are anything like me, you do not know how to count calories or macronutrients (macros) on your own!  However, if you have a smart phone or tablet, you can count calories and exercise with ease!  I downloaded MyFitnessPal app on my phone and it has made me live a healthier lifestyle since.  You can enter any food that you eat into the app and the approximate amount you ate and it will count your calories and macros for you.  You can even scan the barcode of a food item and the app will do everything for you!  Not only with food, but you can also track how much water you drink and how long you exercise and at what intensity.  When you first get the app, you enter you height, weight, and goals, such as how much weight you want to lose and it sets your caloric intake goals for each day.  It will tell you if you have exercised enough, eaten enough, or drank enough water each day.  This app is incredible so click here to download it and make staying healthy much easier.

As you get older, you may find it more difficult to exercise or find time to exercise.  It may fall by the waste side because you do not think it is as important since your body is getting weaker with age.  However, the exact opposite is true.  As you age, it is extremely important to stay active and keep up with your workouts.  Working out actually keeps your body younger.  You also may stop working out simply because you do not enjoy it.  However, there are so many things you can do for exercise that are fun and do not even feel like exercise, such as playing tennis with friends or going on a long walk.  Check out this article to find out why it is important to exercise after having kids and while you are aging.  You will also find ideas for fun workouts or things you can do if you are traveling and do not have access to a gym!
